What is a Friendship Afghan?
A friendship afghan is a patchwork blanket made up of squares knitted or crocheted by various people. Squares are usually traded; you make a square for a friend, and they make one for you. If you don't personally know anyone to trade with, online swaps at places like Swap-Bot and Ravelry are a good way to build a collection.
The Friendship Afghan Project
The Friendship Afghan Project will help bring knitters and crocheters together for the purpose of creating crazy patchwork afghans while making new friends. This includes listing swaps and swapping resources, sharing patterns, and sharing photos of finished squares and afghans in progress.
